Frozen fruit smoothies are becoming more and more popular due to the ease with which they are prepared and of course, for their nutritional properties.
The variety will depend on the imagination of each one and of course on the tastes, but if you do not want to wince your brain thinking what to do, I bring you some of the ones that I like the most and I hope you also like them.
What is a smoothie?
It is neither more nor less than a frozen fruit shake (not blended) to which we add a liquid part such as water, milk, oat milk, coconut milk, tea, juice, etc …
Saving at home
An option to save at home and not waste anything at all: all that fruit that we have leftover and that later nobody ends up eating, is to put it in an airtight bag and freeze. I do it at home since many times, he ended up throwing fruit and it gets on my nerves. When I have it full, I indulge in a smoothie with assorted fruits, a little milk or tea, and a blender.
The importance of freezer bags is fundamental and more recommended than the use of tuppers (no matter how well they close). I explain why.
If we are going to prepare bags to make smoothies throughout the week, it is convenient to be able to identify the bags (by type of fruit) by marking them with a permanent marker. Please do not use freezer bags that are tied unless you are going to use the fruit in a couple of hours … since it ends up burning and the taste is horrible (as with most tuppers that do not close with rubber internal sealing, I mean “click”) and we don’t want that;)
I’m talking about these to be exact. I only use them to use the same day or up to the next day.
The fruit must be peeled and diced (apples or pears can remain with their skin) think that once frozen, this will not be possible. Another point to take into account is the blender, obviously the more power it has the better, but if it is one of the normalities. I advise that the fruit the smaller the better.
Healthy 100% Low-Calorie Smoothies
I make an endless number of smoothies, but my favorites are the ones that I bring you below, both the light ones and the “loaded with love”: D
The preparation is nothing more than putting the ingredients in the blender and pressing the button. So, complications O.
The ingredients are for the preparation of 1 generous smoothie (remember that the fruit must be peeled, cut, and frozen)
- 1 frozen mango
- 1/2 cup of banana
- 1 cup of green tea (very cold)
- a few drops of lime
This smoothie is rich in many nutrients-potassium (from banana), vitamin B-6, Vitamin C, vitamin A (from mango). Ideal to have at breakfast since it gives us a satiating effect and will avoid the pecking of crime;)
Melon, green apple, and cucumber smoothie
- 2 cups of melon (I recommend Galia type )
- 1/2 cup cucumber
- 1 cup of green apple
- a cup of green tea (very cold)
- a few drops of lemon
This shake will help us combat fluid retention problems as well as help purify our body.
Pineapple, banana, and coconut smoothie
- 1 and a half cups of pineapple
- 1/2 cup of banana
- 1/2 cup of coconut water (very cold) and a pinch to decorate if you like
Smoothie with red berries and kiwi
- 1 cup of berries (in supermarkets they sell frozen bags all year round)
- 1 cup of kiwi
- 1/2 cup of fresh orange juice or frozen chopped orange
Another detox shakes where you can find them, but it also comes loaded with antioxidants and is a great ally against cancer.
